About Us

The String Band Division is the musical highlight of the Mummers Parade. The String Bands are known for their happy music and elaborate costuming. The first String Band participated in the 1901 parade as a novelty. This continued to grow and in 1915 their own division was formed.

2024 STRING BAND LUAU PALOOZA

The officers and members of the String Band Association are happy to announce that on Saturday, June 8, 2024, the Philadelphia String Band Association will be hosting our 4th Annual String Band Luau Palooza at the Seaport Pier located in North Wildwood, NJ.

Our event will run for over six hours with our goal being to raise money to help the Philadelphia String Band Association Bands. Our Luau will feature performances by all fourteen String Bands. We will also have appearances by local celebrities & personalities.

No Cable or Satellite:

In the Philadelphia area- Over the air on Channel 2 using a digital tuner or antenna. In the Lehigh Valley/Berks Area-Over the air on Channel 69.3 using digital tuner or antenna.
